Tove’s 10Mila-terrain advice
The time is approaching for 10Mila 2016 in Falun-Borlänge.
Tove Alexandersson, currently the world's best woman orienteer, gives us her valuable advice.
How do you make the race of your life in the Lugnet terrain?
– To be successful it is important to deal with significant changes in speed. Maintain high speed in the easier parts, and then control and focus in the denser forest with difficult orienteering.
– There will be small mistakes that could decide the race, so it is important to never relax.
Tove Alexandersson, who competes for Stora Tuna OK, will not run 10Mila 2016:
– My terrain awareness is too great because I train in the area at least once a week. So it does not feel right to also race there.
There has been debate as to whether this is really a great and challenging competition area. But Tove gives a sound answer:
– In conjunction with EM, which was held in parts of this area, we saw that it is possible to plan tough and demanding courses here.
