Bulletin 2, Tiomila 2024
Tiomila 2024 is getting closer and closer by each day and today, Bulletin 2 is released with more information about next years competition, where detailed information about each relay are one of the things published in Bulletin 2.
Tiomila 2024 will be the first equal Tiomila where both men and women will have both night- and day-legs. Earlier, we have communicated a two leg increase in the womens relay, from five to seven legs, between 2024 – 2026. During summer and the beginning of autumn the womens relay and the increase has been discussed internally in Tiomilaföreningen.
– We are aware that many clubs will struggle to put together teams, not because women
don’t want to run at night, but because there may not be runners available. After listening to the concerns across the country, we have decided to start a little more cautiously than in the original proposal and to offer six legs in the women’s race in 2024-26. Two night legs and then four daytime legs. Hopefully the new equal Tiomila, with night legs in the women’s race, will both increase interest in night orienteering and make more people want to participate, Michale Thulin, chariman of Tiomilaföreningen, summarizes the change.
More about new equal Tiomila, training courses, leg lengths and many other things can be read in Bulletin 2.
