Why Västervik 2027?

The 80th 10MILA

In 2027, 10MILA will be held for the 80th time.

Make this anniversary edition a shared goal for the whole club – from juniors and recreational runners to elite athletes.

Terrain worth the trip

Västervik offers technically challenging coastal terrain with bare rock, small hills and detailed orienteering.

Bring the whole club

10MILA consists of three relays:

Youth Relay
Women’s Relay
Men’s Relay

In 2027, the Women’s Relay will be further developed with the addition of a third night leg.

Prepare together

From 30 October 2026, training opportunities will be available in relevant areas around Västervik.

Training courses will be available for both day and night orienteering, as well as middle-distance, long-distance and relay-focused training.

A larger training weekend is also planned for 25–29 March 2027.

The most important things to decide now are:

  • which runners and team leaders would like to come
  • how you plan to travel to Västervik
  • what type of accommodation you prefer
  • whether you would like to train in Västervik before the competition

Do we need to be an elite club?

No.

One of the special things about 10MILA is that world-class elite runners and regular club teams compete in the same event.

For many clubs, the trip, the relay experience and the friendly competition with clubmates or neighbouring clubs are just as important as the result at the front of the race.

Can we bring the whole club?

Yes – and that is exactly how we hope many clubs will experience 10MILA 2027.

Plan the trip together for juniors, women, men, team leaders and supporters, and make 10MILA a weekend for the whole club.

Where can we stay?

There are several accommodation options in and around Västervik.

Commercial accommodation can already be booked in advance. Official 10MILA accommodation options, such as camping and hard-floor accommodation, will be published together with the competition information.
