Welcome to watch 10MILA 2023!

This classic orienteering competition is not only one of Sweden’s biggest sporting events but also one of the oldest. With three canceled exceptions – 1962 (jaundice epidemic), 2020 and 2021 (pandemic) – it has been held every spring since 1945. Nevertheless, the edition Skellefteå OK and Långvikens OK 20-21 May is not just one in a row but in several respects unique:

Never before has the Tiomila been run so far north.
Never before have the approximately 5 000 runners from all over Europe been able to aim for such a bright race night.
Never before have the changeover and finish been indoors. But now it will happen, in Skellefteå Kraft Arena where the audience, leaders and teammates will be able to follow the race from the stands of the ice stadium, undisturbed by the vagaries of the weather.

Arena

Skogsarena will be Vitbergsterrängen, immediately north of central Skellefteå, including the area where
the middle distance in the 1995 Open Nordic Championships was held. This is also where the other two bidding competitions of the weekend, the women’s and youth competitions, will be held. This means that orienteering will take place here for one day, from Saturday to Sunday morning. And not only that. Tiomila is preceded on Thursday 18 May by the Swedish League, organized by Umeå OK but located in an area just south of Skellefteå, and the next day with a city sprint in the city centre.

Accredited journalist/photographer

As an accredited journalist/photographer, you have access to our press center, which you will find directly adjacent to the finish line in the competition arena. There are workplaces, wireless connection, results service, light refreshments and knowledgeable staff to help you get settled. In the press center, a number of information meetings will be held during the competition weekend and from here there is also continuous transport to photo controls. More details, press badges and parking permits will be sent out the week before the race.
